Performance Modeling of Web Server System Considering Interaction between Heterogeneous Resources

Abstract(in English) Recently, Internet service performance control and measurement technology becomes important. But, with regard to Web server that is one of the most important and principal apparatus for network service, it is difficult to understand its dynamics because of interaction between internal heterogeneous resources like CPU, memory, and hard disk. In this paper, we construct Web server performance model by making the interaction between Web server resources clear. Then, we evaluate the validity of the model by comparing the parameter the estimated by the model and experience result. Then, we show some examples of Web server performance analysis based on the model.
