Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Accounting is indispensable for QoS differentiation of IP protocol suite, but it is not widely deployed since it requires fundamental changes of IP networks. We believe that active networks should have this function as a standard mechanism. We therefore propose an accounting mechanism, especially a per-packet authentication mechanism that will be deployed in our proposed active network system, StreamCode. The mechanism distributes authentication information among nodes through middleware'a signaling, and data packets are authenticated on per-packet basis using hardware security engine.
