Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A unified service control architecture applicable to IPv6 networks is proposed in this paper, aiming to provide customized IP services on a user-by-user basis. The proposed architecture aims to upgrade the Internet to function more intelligently by utilizing "service profiles, " which are data sets containing the service specifications of individual users. The authors are proposing this network architecture to enable customized IP services in networks based on IPv6, which is the promising protocol for next-generation IP networks. The basic concepts of the service control scheme in the proposed architecture are as follows: 1)separation of the service control layer and IP packet transmission layer; 2)utilization of an enhanced host authentication protocol, which is indispensable for hosts in IPv6 networks to configure IPv6 addresses; and 3)service activation when detecting the start of a data packet flow. Use of the proposed architecture can promote the emergence of more intelligent applications on the Internet.
