Bandwidth management method for IP datagram transport network

Abstract(in English) Diffserv is being discussed by IETF as a scalable model of IP QoS. EF class is a service class which guarantees the bandwidth in the network. We propose that a distributed bandwidth management for EF class in the diffserv network. The method makes it possible to manage bandwidth over each route by using input traffic information from each border router and network topology. We extended the BGP-4 for the notification of the traffic information between each border router, and each border router can do distributed admission control. We argue that the proposed method provides bandwidth guarantee for EF service without core routers involved in bandwidth management process.
