Performance Evaluation of a Load Balancing Routing Algorithm for a Cache Server Array

Abstract(in English) The market of contents delivery services on the Internet is growing up rapidly. Therefore, the technologies to achieve the high-performance are getting more important. Especially, the mothods to balance the loads among servers and to achieve the good response have been investigated. Some contents delivery sites place a cache server (a reverse proxy) in the front of origin servers to reduce its load and to improve the response time. When we place some cache servers (a cache server array) to avoid that the cache server makes the response worse, an effective routing algorithm is necessary to dispatch requests to appropriate cache servers in order to draw the effect of using the plural servers. In this paper, we propose a routing algorithm for a cache server array and evaluate the performance by the simulation.
