Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We perform a simple network simulation to clarify a mechanism producing self-similar traffic from the viewpoint of phase transition phenomena in statisitical physics. Focusing on the network protocol effect, we show that exponential back-off mechanism in Ethernet and simple feedback mechanism in TCP play important roles in generating the self-similarity observed in actual traffic. |
