Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In cases where a number of mobile nodes (MNs) move in a group-such as on trains, problems have arisen with a rush of signals at the boundaries of the location registration area, as a result of the simultaneous transmission of location registration (LR) signals by individual MNs. We have proposed concatenated location management (CLM) that can reduce this inefficient flood of updates by managing concatenations between MNs and train in the mobile network. In this paper, we show configurations, sequences, and experimental results of our test bed that implements CLM, and we confirm that CLM is very effective. We clarify applicability conditions of CLM quantitatively and propose a solution for adverse conditions in order to expand applicability of CLM.
