Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Cellular operators' mobile networks play important role as access networks that transport traffic between mobile terminals and lSPs. We propose all-IP mobile network architecture that provides better transport for internet traffic than the current IMT-2000 network architecture. To accommodate various multimedia services such as internet-phone and streaming in all-IP mobile network, flexible QoS (Quality of Service) support is required. Among various mechanisms for QoS support, efficient radio resource management is especially important because the available bandwidth for a wireless system is very limited. In this paper, we show the requirements for QoS support in all-IP based mobile network, and propose a novel radio resource management framework and associated QoS signaling at call setup and handover.
