Dependence of Diversity Effect on Antenna Element-Spacing of Adaptive Array for Arrival Signals with Angular Spread : Experimental Verification in Anechoic Chamber

Abstract(in English) We tested the performance on widelyspaced adaptive array antenna for arrival signals with angular spread by installing plural transmitting antennae in large anechoic chamber. Before we reported thespotty degradation of the interference suppression effect in according to its spatial correlation pattern. This time, we adopted plural wave sources instead of single wave source to simulate angular spread. The measured results showed that BER(bit error rate) were greatly improved in all AOA(angle of arrival) even if agular spread was just 4 degrees when elementspacing was 8λ, contrarily angular spread under 8 degrees couldn't make distinct differences when elementspacing was 0.47λ. We verified experimentally that space diversity effect is obvious on widely-spaced array antenna for arrival signals with angular spread.
