Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes an adaptive multipath resolution control scheme using a delay profile conversion technique for RAKE receivers in DS/CDMA systems to effectively resolve and combine multipath for high-bit-rate multimedia services. In the proposed scheme, after a receiver measures a delay profile with its resolution of equal to the highest chip rate, then estimates delay profiles for lower chip rates using a delay profile conversion technique, and selects a chip rate that maximizes the received signal to noise plus interference power ratio (SNIR) after limited number of RAKE finger signals are combined. Computer simulation confirms that the proposed scheme can reduce the average transmit power by about 5 dB without degrading the transmission quality under 30-ray Rayleigh fading conditions when 3-finger RAKE receiver is employed.
