Design Criteria on Space-Time Trellis Codes for Quasi-static Fading Channels

Abstract(in English) In this paper, first we compare design criteria on space-time trellis codes (STTC) for quasi-static fading channels. Second, we propose a new design criterion for quasi-static fading channels with two tansmit antennas and one receive antenna. Moreover, we propose a new 4-PSK, 4 state STTC by the computer search based on the conventional and proposed design criteria for quasi-static fading channels. By the computer simulation, we show that the proposed design criterion is useful eves when the determinant criterion in [5] is insufficient as a design criterion for quasi-static fading channels with two tansmit antennas and one receive antenna. We also show that the determinant criterion in [11] is more useful than the trace criterion for quasi-static fading channels with two tansmit antennas and three receive antennas. Moreover, we show that the new 4-PSK, 4 state STTC achieves better frame error rate (FER) performance than the conventional 4-PSK, 4 state STTC for quasi-static fading channels.
