Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) IEEE802.11 working group has been making the wireless LAN standards at 2.4GHz and 5GHz. In recent years, wireless LANs at 2.4GHz has become popular rapidly in offices and homes after the standardization of IEEE802.11b, which achieves 11Mbit/s data rate. This report explains progress of the IEEE802.11 physical layer standards, and the IEEE802.11g standards which are discussed as a higher bit rate(more than 20 Mbit/s)2.4GHz wireless LAN. Furthermore, this paper explains IEEE802.11e and i standards as an enhanced IEEE802.11 MAC layer protocol. The task group e has been discussing to make an enhanced MAC protocol to realize audio and visual data stream transmission. The task group i also has been discussing to make an enhanced MAC protocol to realize secure wireless LAN system.
