Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a cell-partitioned CDMA system with time-slot assignment. A cell is divided into subareas, and a time slot is assigned each subarea in the cell. These time slots are assigned according to different patterns in the adjacent cells. The uplink system capacity was about 4% higher and the downlink capacity was about 15% higher when the traffic was uniformly distributed. Evaluation using a hot-spot model showed that the uplink and downlink quality improved when cells were adaptively partitioned according to the traffic distribution.
