Layer 2 Combined Queueing for Real-time Communications in Wireless Networks

Abstract(in English) This paper describes a new queueing model integrated with layer2 functions to provide low-delay real-time communications over wireless networks. This queueing model conducts packet scheduling in units of layer2 segments to decrease the delay of real-time packets when transmitting large packets. In addition, different retransmission functions are provided according to the requirement of each service class. We also discuss the adaptation of this queueing model to IMT-2000. Simulation results show that this queueing model contributes to low-delay packet transmission for real-time flows.
