Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates the population process of active users in a cell and applies it to a traffic model for mobile multimedia networks, This population process describes two significant characteristics of these networks: the long holding time for data communications, and the density dependence of the users' migration speed. The first characteristic causes a self-similarity in the population process, and the second one shows the relationship between the users' migration speed and the variance of the population process. We propose a traffic model using this population process and evaluate network performance in simulations using the proposed traffic model.
