Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) is being standardized as one of the core technologies for the Next Generation Internet, that provides numerously extended address fields to support worldwide increasing nodes, built-in auto-configuration, security features and so on. Although the Linux kernel, one of the earliest implementations in the world, has built-in IPv6 stack inside, it is not compliant enough with the latest specifications. USAGI Project is an active IPv6 cooperative development project for Linux, which has been pursued by researchers from industry and academic laboratories. In this paper, we present overview, activities and future plans of the project.
