Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We developed a technique called "WebDigest" that makes digest of a Web page to solve secondary problems caused by enlarging texts and lines of the Web pages in the "Accessibility Transcoding System." The technique was implemented and opened to the public at the second phase of "LYCOS/ITry Project", which is an experimental service of Web contents offered by LYCOS Japan and IBM Japan. The result of subjective evaluation of the project and the results of separately performed time-trial experiments showed that this technique is effective in helping elderly people to access the content of Web pages.
