Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In sign languages, it is supposed that signs or gestures expressed by signers are influenced by the listener's behavior. In this study, in order to analyze influence of a listener's nods on the speaker, we carried out an experiment where the frequencies of listener's nods are controlled. While the speaker was speaking in sign language, the frequencies of listener's nods were changed. The conditions of listener's nods are the ordinary way, a lack of nods and constrained nods at intervals of a second, three seconds and four seconds. As a result, it is found that the frequency of the listener's nods affects the speech rate and the complexity of sentences in speaker's sign.
