Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes contextual factors which affect the quality of the synthetic speech of a HMM-based speech synthesis system. In the HMM-based speech synthesis, each speech unit is modeled by a context dependent HMM. The naturalness of the prosodic feature of the generated speech is examined by changing the contextual factors such as accent, speech segment, speech paragraph, etc. The influence of the part of speech systems upon the synthetic speech quality is also examined.
