| 抄録(和) | 情報処理機器の高機能化・高性能化に伴って,それらの構造・機構が極めて複雑なものとなってきている.そして現在の人は,それらのモノの振舞いを定義づけている物理的・記述的原理を直観的に理解する能力の限界の位置にある.そこで生じる様々な人-モノ間におけるインタラクションは,我々に従来の人とモノとの関係性の再考を要求してきている.すなわち我々は,モノについて従来の道具としての観点から社会的存在としての観点へと転換を必要とされているのである.このことはヒューマノイドロボットの例を持ち出すまでもなく,我々が日常的に利用しているメディアやコンピュータに対しても同様に議論すべき問題となっている.本稿では,特に情報処理機器の代表格であるコンピュータと人とのインタラクションに着目し,人がコンピュータに対して自覚のない対人的反応を行ない,2者間において人同士の場合と同様な社会的インタラクションを成り立たせていることを示すMedia Equationパラダイムに基づく実験結果を紹介する.そしてこのことから,システムの設計者によってユーザの行動を設計者が意図した方向へ誘導することのできることと,それによる今後の人-コンピュータ間インタラクション研究とその応用の方向性について議論すべき問題を提起する. |
| 抄録(英) | Recent studies revealed that humans interact socially with computers in much the same way as they interact with humans. "Ethopoeia," a Greek word composed of "Ethos (character)" and "Poeia (representation)," captures this inherent human nature of attributing human qualities to computational as well as non-computational media. We have been working to elucidate the human psychological factors of social interpersonal responses when people socially interact with computers and other intelligent objects, such as autonomous robots, software agents and machines with complex architectures. We believe the phenomena of "ethopoeia" need to be seriously considered in framing our future life, where humans will invariably have to coexist and establish affiliative relationships with computational agents. We present some results of our studies focusing on a social aspect of human-computer interactions, to provide an opportunity to discuss the human nature of communications. |
