Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a parallel search scheme for fast vector quantization with sorted codebook.The vector quantization with sorted codebook (VQ-SC) algorithm has been proposed by the authors. VQ-SC allows us to search only a portion of the codebook to fmd the minimum distortion codeword of any input vector.Proposed parallel search scheme for VQ-SC can handle larger codebook sizes and vector dimensions with least encoding operations.The effectiveness and practicality of the proposed scheme are demonstrated with real image.encoding on actucal multiprocessor systems.
