Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To avoid servers' overload many sites provide multiple servers for one service. In this situation, it is crucial for load balancing to select an appropriate one out of these servers. But current mechanisms for server selection are not effective for this. We propose a load balancing mechanism using domain name servers. When replying to name resolution requests, each name server selects the most appropriate server autonomously. This system provides a flexible and widely-applicable mechanism for load balancing.
