Consideration on Parallelization of Database Mining

Abstract(in English) One of the most important problem in database mining is discovery of association rules in large database. Several algorithms have been proposed to solve the mining association rules. However all of them are sequential algorithms. We have to handle large transaction data in database mining. In this paper, we consider the parallel algorithms for mining association rules on a shared-nothing environment. We present three parallel algorithms based on Apriori algorithm. We describe the implementation of these algorithms on a shared-nothing parallel computer Fujitsu AP1000, and the performance evaluation from this implementation.
