Abstract(in English) Since Dec. 1992, we have developed and researched in the Keio-MMP project, which is part of Open Fundamental Software Technology Projects supported by Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan. The goal of our project is to develop the software to realize the distributed, real-time multimedia environment which can integrate various media on typical multimedia equipments connected to commonly available personal computers or workstations. In this paper, we describe the summary of our research reactivities in the project and show the software architecture of our developed system. Also we explain the system components such as the distributed real-time microkernel and conductor/performer architecture.
