Abstract(in English) JUMP-1/3(SUN) is a workstation cluster system with a distributed shared memory consisting of additional boards attached to the SBus of SUN workstation. Through the evaluation, two problems were appeared: overspeck of the network, and a severe performance degradation caused by the stall of write operation. In order to cope with these problems, a modified system called JUMP-1/3-SL is developed. The network is replaced by a const-effective serial link called the STAFF-Link for connecting remote workstations easily. To reduce the overhead of the write operation, Transaction Buffer is introduced and Partial Store Ordering is implemented. From the measument of the execution time, the modified system can solve the problem if the system size is small.
