Overview of research on critical thinking in the process of reading

Abstract(in English) The purpose of this paper is to overview the studies on critical thinking in cognitive psychology and proposes some suggestions for further research. In recent studies, the definition of critical thinking has not been standardized, and there are few studies which examined domain specific abilities and attitude toward tasks in critical thinking although they are important for critical thinking. Furthermore, the research which is observed concerning the domain specificity of critical thinking has almost not done. Examined in this paper about the role of the critical thinking in text understanding process. Especially, focused to the relationship between the prior knowledge quantity for the text contents of the reader and the reading ability to apply critical thinking. Finally, the experiment design regarding the measurement of the critical thinking abilities which sets text reading to topic is proposed.
