Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed a prototype of Japanese Learning-support system with Kana recognitions. Various learning materials and educational system have been constructed using multimedia, but there is almost nothing of framework that supports language in exchanging audio-video via communications network. We then propose the Japanese learning-support system displaying Kanji and pictures with Kana letters within an image. The prototype system detects Kana letters using the ARToolkit, recognize a Japanese word, and display translations into the Kanji, English, and Thai. The Web browser is used as a display tool, so that the formats that the Web browser support can be displayed. This includes sound, image, and 3D model as well as letters.
