Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a wearable tour guide system based on augmented reality, which presents tour guiding information to a user in outdoor environments. Our system named "Heijyokyuseki Navi" can provide the user with three kinds of guiding contents (voice, movie, and computer graphics) based on the user's position and orientation for sightseeing in Heijyokyuseki (Nara palace site). Especially, the proposed system shows annotations and virtual objects to the user using augmented reality techniques so as to be able to understand the augmented environmentintuitively.
