Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Dissolve or fade detection problem is regarded as classification problem of multidimensional sequential data with large variation. To solve this problem, we propose two stage decision method. First stage is shot change detection for each couple of frames as multidimensional classification. We use color histogram, motion vector and edge density as features to describe image status. Second stage is rule based decision to detect continuity of classification results sequence. To evaluate proposed method, we carried out shot change detection experiment. We use the "video database for evaluating video processing" as experimental data. The experimental results show effectiveness of our method.
