Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An operon is a transcriptional unit in prokaryotes. Genes belonging to a single operon often exhibit related biological functions to each other. Therefore prediction of operon structure is beneficial for prediction of biological functions of genes. We have developed a method that predicts the operon structure using DNA microarray data. Our method is based on a Bayesian hierarchical model. As a consequence, our method has shown higher prediction performance than a conventional method based on a correlation analysis.
