Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to retrieve the movement of a group of objects, it is necessary to evaluate not the movement of each of the objects but the movement of groups of objects. In order to express the movement of the group in the video data, the video data is specially and /or temporally segmented and the granularity of area and shot interval forms hierarchy. A representative vector is calculated, which corresponds to the collective movement of the objects. The representative vector at the higher hierarchy corresponds to the global movement of the group of objects and one at the lower hierarchy corresponds to the local movement of the group. Comparing representative vectors enables us to retrieve the video data based on the similarity of the movement of the group.
