Abstract(in English) | This paper proposed an image synthesizing method for background subtraction under changing illumination. Background subtraction is a simple but effective technique to detect objects on captured images. For technique to be used under changing illumination. the background image of each frame is required. Methods based on linear projection onto eigen-space have been proposed. Under the assumption of illumination cone model, the eigen-space is obtained from background images stored under various illumination conditions. However, they have some limitations. One of those is that the area containing the object on a captured image needs to be small. In the proposed method, a background image for image subtraction is synthesized as a liner combination of background images captured under various illumination conditions. Considering all combinations of the weight parameter, which is not impractical, make is possible to avoid this problem. A method for determining the weight parameter efficiently is described. In the experiments, background subtraction was carried out under changing illumination ; i. e. geometrical setup. and color. The results show that the proposed method works well even if 80% of the captured image is hidden under changing illumination conditions. |
