Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Distribution of various formatted video and audio signals becomes easy with deployment of the Internet. The transmission of the high quality video image and the audio signal is one of the most important and desirable applications for the next generation Internet society. In this paper, we introduce a high definition video transmission system over IP network with recently released consumer high definition digital camcoder. The transmission system is implemented as software running on a personal computer. We also report the result of distance learning experiment carried out in November 2003 using this system.
