Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have conducted studies on a quantitative method for measurement of psychological effect given by highly realistic surrounding display systems. The proposed method uses the movement of subject's body-sway induced by the visual stimulus as an index. To analyze quantitative relation between subject's body-sway and the visual stimulus, an ARX model was fitted to the data. The results showed that an ARX model successfully extracted features of visually induced self motion. One of the most interesting results was that subject's body-sway preceded the motion of the visual stimulus. The results suggested that subject's prediction of the motion of visual stimulus caused this phase lead phenomena. We hypothesized that the amount of phase lead phenomena is determined to minimize the transient error when the velocity of the motion of the visual stimulus changes.
