Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report studies inter-destination synchronization, which adjusts the output timing among destinations in a multicast group, for live audio and video multicasting in a wireless ad hoc network. We regard the quality of media synchronization as the major part of the application-level QoS. We assess the application-level QoS of two centralized control inter-destination synchronization schemes: the master-slave destination scheme, and the synchronization maestro scheme. We investigate the effect of the location of the centralized control node on the application-level QoS. We perform computer simulation with a string topology network. In the simulation, a source terminal multicasts the audio and video streams to six destinations by using ODMRP (On-Demand Multicast Routing Protocol), which is a multicast routing protocol for ad hoc networks.
