Abstract(in English)	With the trend of digitalization of video signal, such as digital broadcasting, wide spread of DVD player/recorder and expectations for mobile video service, demands for picture quality assessment technologies are emerging. In this paper, we start, how assessment technologies of digital different from an analog signal, and introduce technologies of picture quality assessment and their realization in products. We also refer to VQEG activities for standardization in this area. KDDI Media Will Corporation, a KDDIin-house venture company, is conducting business selling these products, by its experience; we present key issues for business development by a R&D fruits in research laboratories.
