Abstract(in English) | Since broadband services are rapidly spreading, Fiber To The Home (FTTH) is receiving increased attention. Especially, Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) that is promising as low cost FTTH infrastructure is attractive. In this paper, we present traffic analysis in the laboratory and in KDDI's FTTH trial for the applicability of the EPON to the video streaming and VoIP. Through the analysis, is has been confirmed that we can successfully provide video streaming service though the instantaneous bit rate of the traffic exceeded millions of bit per second. In addition, we have confirmed that we can provide VoIP services with small packet jitter and small latency |
