Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The present research was conducted to elucidate spatial characteristics of auditory effect on visual temporal order judgment (TOJ). Unlike previous researches in which auditory information had an effect on visual TOJ without spatial information, we examined auditory capture of visual TOJ with spatial congruency of the right and left, which had been shown to influence on TOJ. In the experiment auditory stimulus improved visual temporal resolution when visual and auditory spatial information were congruent, and reduced when incongruent. This effect was observed even when auditory stimulus was apart from visual stimulus by 640ms. These results indicated that spatial congruency modulated auditory capture of visual TOJ.
