Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Keyboard and mouse are still standard input devices used in 3D graphics software as well as in 2D software. However, keyboard and mouse devices are not satisfactory for efficiently operating 3D objects in 3D graphics software because a mouse device outputs only two-dimensional information and because it is difficult to keep in mind the mapping between keys and their corresponding operation. To overcome this problem, the authors propose the combination use among voice commands and mouse/keyboard operations. Then, the authors introduced voice input interface into IntelligentBox, which is a component based 3D software development system. This paper explains voice commands already implemented and software components introduced for handling voice commands, used flexibly combined with other software components to develop 3D graphics software. Furthermore, the authors describe their usefulness by showing their actual 3D graphics application.
