| 抄録(和) | 垂直面上に書かれた上向きまたは下向の矢印は,上方あるいは下方を指示していると解釈されるべきであるが,標識として使用されている場合は上向き矢印は前方を示していると解釈される.その原因を探るため,上向き矢印ならびに下向き矢印の提示角度を独立変数として変化させ前方あるいは後方のどちらを指示していると見えるか,ならびにその強さを測定した.その結果,上向き矢印に対しては前方指示と後方指示の選択確立が均衡する点が垂直位置より観察者側に倒れた角度となった.しかし,下向き矢印に対しての均衡点は垂直位置となった.このことは前方を指示する標識としては上向き矢印が使われるものの,下向き矢印が後方指示の標識として使われないことによるものであると考えられる.すなわち垂直面上に描かれた上向き矢印が前方を指示すると解釈されるのは学習の効果であると推測された. |
| 抄録(英) | An upward-arrow and a downward-arrow drown on a paper should be perceived as indicating the upper and the lower direction respectively. When the arrow was used as a sign, the upward-arrow is recognized as an indicator of an anterior direction. To investigate the reason, indicating directions of arrows and subjective strength were measured where the angle of the tilt arrow was the dependent variable. As a result, the turning angle from the forward to the backward shifted slightly to the subject's side for the upper-arrow, but not for the downward-arrow. This result showed that the recognition of the upward-arrow as indicating the anterior direction would be caused by custom. Because the upward-arrow has been used as the indicator of the anterior direction, but downward-arrow has seldom been used as the indicator of the posterior direction. |
