Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) There have been extensive studies on manipulation of individual facial attributes, such as an expression and an age, for synthesizing facial images. Most studies have focused on manipulation of shapes of facial parts, such as eyes, mouths, or outlines, but spots and wrinkles have been treated as simple global features, such as skin color and textures. This research, on the other hand, analyses the shapes of individual spots and wrinkles for their extraction and manipulation. Extraction and classification of wrinkles and spots are based on the characteristics of pixel distribution within each spot or wrinkle, not on their contour shapes. We conducted human evaluation experiments, confirming that larger age manipulation can be achieved when we manipulated spots, wrinkles, and facial parts altogether as compared to facial parts alone.
