Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A psychological experiment was conducted to investigate the accuracy of judgments of facial age. 206 facial stimuli aged between 6 and 78 were used in this experiment. Age was categorized according to decade. The subjects were 192 people with the approximately same age range as the stimuli. The results showed that perceived facial age was slightly higher than the real age, and that the perceived age for every age category of the faces differed depending on the age of the subjects. Finally, we discuss a possible system for age estimation based on the subjective data.
