Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study was to investigate human recognition of human-body poses. We employed natural and unnatural poses of three-dimensional human-body models in computer graphics, and made two-dimensional images of them from different viewpoints to test view-dependency of recognition performance. In results, the recognition performance for images across different viewpoints decreased, and we found the view-dependency in human-pose recognition. The view-dependency was less in natural poses than in unnatural poses. However, it was not found with inverted pose images. This is analogous to face-inversion effect. Thus, it is suggested that human pose is encoded as specific representation in our brain.
