A Design of Reactive Virtual Human with Force Interaction

Abstract(in English) For the interaction between virtual humans and real ones, vision-based recognition or audition have mainly been a key issue. However, our aim is to design a Virtual Human who is able to directly interact with the real human by physical information. This is implemented using Reactive Virtual Human System, which combines a human-scale virtual environment with haptic elements. The interactive motion of a real person is captured using this system, and virtual human is animated the correspondence of reactive motions with user's actions from pre-stored motion database. Moreover, virtual human's force reaction transmits user. Therefore, this study will be a novel design for generating a natural-looking reactive motion similar to interaction in the real world.
