Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The authors have been studying interactive animation systems. This paper proposes new motion generation method based on marionette metaphor that allow the user to generate the motions of CG characters by his/her interactive manipulations using commercial joy stick products. The information output from the joy stick is insufficient to fully control the pose of CG character. Any constraints are necessary so the authors employed gravity and ground contact constraints. They make possible to generate motions like those of a marionette performed in the real world. Therefore, this method is applicable to entertainment fields. This paper describes concrete algorithms and shows motion examples generated by the algorithms to clarify their usefulness.
