Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes real-time interactive systems illuminating your shadows cast on the floor, which we name "Graphic Shadow." The system is based on Spatially Augmented Reality (SAR), which integrates the virtual world directly into the real world with large screens supplying the user wide field of view. A user occluding the projector light may create undesirable shadow in front-projection-based SAR systems. We overcome and turn this problem to our advantage with an elaborately designed optics including multi-projection techniques, which makes it possible to take control of the light and shadow in the system. Two systems are implemented in Graphic Shadow. They are "Textured Shadow" and "Pictorial Shadow." The systems will make you experience an exciting space of interaction performing an illusion on your own shadow.
