Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We investigated the relationship between touching and seeing in illusion using Hering and Wundt figures. The conditions of touching a wooden board were concave, convex, and parallel. As a control, no touching condition was prepared. Participants were asked to observe illusion figures and report what they saw. Visual illusion was varied depending whether haptic information was given or not ; the amount of visual illusion was changed with different haptic information in the sense that visual responses were biased to the kind of haptic information. This touch-oriented response tendency was most marked under the condition of eye-hand coordination.
