Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This work investigates how perceivers extract phonetically relevant visual information from dynamic audiovisual speech information. Spatial and temporal gaussian low-pass filters are applied individually and in combination to video sequences of syllables in Japanese sentences. Intelligibility scores are used to assess the effectiveness of the filters.
