Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a method of estimating human emotion quantitatively, with fractal dimension analysis of electroencephalograph (EEG). The EEG features have been extracted into a set of 45 state valuables (in 10channels) of fractal dimensions of EEGs collected with about ten scalp electrodes corresponding to anger, sadness, joy, and relaxation. Emotion fractal dimension analysis method (EFAM) may reduce the number of the state valuables of emotions to 1/3-1/9 compared with the conventional method proposed by Musha. In the evaluation experiment, the rate of recognition to the EEG data that is not utilized at the time of learning is found to be improved about 30% compared with the conventional method.
