Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we study KANSEI inter-retrieval system among different media. We have already proposed a KANSEI retrieval system for music. Hence, we construct a KANSEI retrieval system for pictures and combine it with the KANSEI retrieval system for music. The conventional KANSEI inter-retrieval systems use common KANSEI words or common main factor for KANSEI words, e.g. brightness for pictures and brightness for music. However, two media with different impressions may correspond, e.g. a night view (a dark picture) and pleasant music. In this case, the conventional systems cannot relate the two media because the retrieval depends on the degree of the correspondence of impressions. In order to solve this problem, we first experiment the relation of impressions between pictures and music. The experimental results demonstrate two media with different impressions correspond. This paper also shows evaluation results of the proposed KANSEI inter-retrieval system.
